Founded in 1922, the International Society of Limnology (SIL) is a non-profit scientific society that brings together limnology researchers from 70+ countries. Its mission is to promote excellence in the study and management of inland waters and to solve global problems by fostering interdisciplinary approaches and knowledge transfer. The SIL Managing Director is headquartered in Montreal. We are currently looking for someone to help coordinate our member activities on a part-time basis. The Membership and Office Coordinator is the Society’s primary contact with its community of members and acts as a “community manager”. They also performs various administrative tasks for the organization, in support of the Managing Director and the members of the Executive Council. The duties of the Membership and Business Office Coordinator support the activities in four major categories: Communications, Board of Directors Activities, Membership, and Congress Planning. REQUIREMENTS: Very good digital skills with experience with administrative tasks, databases, Canva Pro, video-conferencing, collaborative work tools, and social networks. At least a post-secondary undergraduate diploma or in the process of obtaining this year Commitment to the position for at least 12 months Must own their own computer Must be able to legally work in Canada ASSETS: Bilingualism (French-English) with excellent written English Interest in aquatic or life sciences Web design skills or experience using WordPress Background in business, communication, project management, content creation, marketing, or other related fields WORKING CONDITIONS: Flexible schedule depending on the availability of the person hired, between 15-20hours/week Fully remote job, work from home Opportunity to become familiar with the context of the activities of an international scientific society, and to interact with aquatic scientists from around the world Gain experience in conference organizing and event planning Opportunity to participate in the SIL 2026 conference on site in Montreal Opportunity to propose and develop projects for the Society Please send your cover letter and CV to our email by April 20, 2025.
